‘My Mother Loves You’: Jesse Watters Gives Pod Save America Host Consolation Prize After Contentious Interview

Fox News host Jesse Watters ended a spirited and borderline contentious Thursday interview with Jon Favreau by telling the Pod Save America host that his liberal mother is a big fan.

Watters has gushed and complained about his liberal mother for years on the network while admitting they sometimes clash on a number of political and social issues.

On Thursday’s edition of Jesse Watters Primetime which was broadcast live from the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, the host welcomed the former speechwriter for President Barack Obama to discuss the 2024 election and Vice President Kamala Harris’s chances in a general election.

Watters and Favreau sparred about former President Donald Trump‘s proposals for a second term in comparison to what Harris has proposed if she becomes the 47th president.

“Your guy [Barack Obama] ran on, ‘I’m going to get out of Iraq, I want healthcare reform. Those were concrete issues,” Watters said. “What is she saying?”

Favreau and Watters talked over one another as they debated whether Harris would be able to implement what he categorized as an aggressively progressive agenda.

The host also pressed Favreau as to whether he felt any other potential candidates received a fair shake before Harris consolidated her party’s support last month when President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

Favreau pushed back and argued that while Harris became his party’s presumptive nominee in only 24 hours, it was because no other candidates challenged her.

The segment never reached a level of hostility but the duo went back and forth for several minutes. But as Watters pressed Favreau on issues ranging from taxes to the country’s border with Mexico, he ran out of time.

Watters said to his guest, “We agreed to disagree. Jon Favreau, My mother loves you. Thank you for coming on.”

Favreau replied, “Thank you for having me.”
