Nancy Pelosi Laughs When Fox Producer Proposes Kamala Harris Debate on His Network

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) laughed at Fox News producer Johnny Belisario after he asked why Vice President Kamala Harris would not debate former President Donald Trump on the network.

Approaching Pelosi’s golf cart at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this week, Belisario asked, “Madam Speaker, how are you? Nice to meet you. Johnny from Fox. Should Kamala do a Fox debate?”

Pelosi burst into laughter before replying, “Don’t make me laugh.”

After Belisario pressed, “Why won’t she do it?” Pelosi remarked, “Debate a fox?”

“If she can’t do Fox, how is she going to face Putin?” the Fox News producer questioned, prompting Pelosi to respond, “I don’t see any equivalence in that statement.”

Belisario also approached Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) at the convention with the same question.

“Why won’t Kamala do the Fox debate?” he asked, as Sanders tried to walk away.

Sanders then turned to Belisario and snapped, “You know what? Ask her!”

As Sanders proceeded to ignore the Fox News producer, Belisario continued, “We can’t. She won’t answer. Senator, if she can’t do Fox, how is she gonna face Putin? Senator?”

Trump announced on Monday that Harris’s campaign had declined a proposed September debate on Fox News, which would have taken place less than a week before their September 10 ABC News debate.

“Comrade Kamala Harris has just informed us that she will NOT do the FoxNews Debate on September 4th,” wrote Trump in a Truth Social post. “I am not surprised by this development because I feel that she knows it is very difficult, at best, for her to defend her record setting Flip-Flopping on absolutely everything she once believed in.”

He continued, “Rather than the debate on September 4th, I have agreed to do a Tele-Town Hall, anchored by Sean Hannity, for Fox. It will take place in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania – Details to follow!”
