Fox News’s Gutfeld! swept the late-night competition last week as Greg Gutfeld’ s eponymous show aired live head-to-head with the likes of Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon following the Democratic National Convention.

Last week, Gutfeld! aired live after the DNC wrapped at the same time as Colbert and his fellow late-night hosts and the Fox News show won in both total average viewers and in the demo — despite the competition reaching into more homes on broadcast networks.

Gutfeld! brought in 1.65 million total average viewers between August 19th and the 22nd — as well as 293,000 viewers in the demo. Colbert landed in second place with 1.62 million total viewers and 287,000 demo viewers during the same time frame.

Jimmy Kimmel came in third with 799,000 total viewers and 170,000 demo viewers, all according to Nielsen ratings. The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon was not far behind with 731,000 total viewers and 189,000 demo viewers.

Gutfeld! landed atop the cable news ratings in the advertiser-coveted 25-54 age demographic last quarter, a testament to the show’s growing audience. Gutfeld continues to co-host The Five, the top-rated show in all of cable news, and his late-night show landed in second place overall in the second quarter of this year with 2.1 million average total viewers — making him, without doubt, the most-watched host on cable news.

Gutfeld! usually airs at 10 p.m. on the East Coast and is broadcast live across the country, giving it a time slot advantage over traditional late-night programming, which airs around 11:30 – as Gutfeld! did last week.

The Democratic National Convention created a ratings surge on MSNBC and CNN as the Democrats beat the RNC in the ratings. Across all networks, the DNC averaged some 21.8 million viewers, compared to the RNC’s 19.1 million viewers. CBS took full advantage of the political fanfare as Colbert did his show from Chicago and had a parade of big-name Democrats as guests — including Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi.
