‘Preposterous’: Fox’s Guy Benson Tears Into Harris for Granting First Interview Nearly 40 Days After Launch of Her Campaign

Fox News contributor Guy Benson tore into Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday for granting her first interview nearly 40 days after the launch of her presidential campaign.

Reacting to the news that Harris would sit down with CNN anchor Dana Bash on Thursday for her first interview since the launch of her presidential campaign 37 days prior, Benson joked, “40 days later. So soon? Are we sure they’re not rushing into this?”

He continued:

This has been preposterous. Not a single interview for either of them [Harris or Tim Walz] since she became de-facto and then official nominee nearly 40 days ago, and there are so many questions that need to be asked of both of them, but particularly her. I’m glad they’re finally doing one, and so many of them surround what I view as irreconcilable flip-flops from her previous stated positions on national television, including on that network, and many forms that she did as a presidential candidate, versus what her campaign has put out in various statements and tweets and press releases are her new supposed beliefs. You can’t really square them easily and it could be fascinating to watch her try if she’s actually pressed on it.

Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen then weighed in, “They’ve taken something that should be routine and turned it into a really high-stakes event where Dana Bash has the fate of the candidate in her hand.”

Referencing former President Donald Trump’s June 27 debate with President Joe Biden , which was moderated by Bash and resulted in Biden dropping out of the race, Thiessen concluded, “That’s happened before and it didn’t go very well for the Democrats in that debate.”
