Joe Rogan shut down rumors he will be suing MSNBC, though he accused the network of “deceptively” editing a clip to make it appear that he was praising Vice President Kamala Harris .
In the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience , Rogan said he had to tell his own stepfather there is no MSNBC lawsuit coming after he contacted him excited about the idea. Rogan accused MSNBC of mashing together statements he made about Harris and Tulsi Gabbard .
“I’m not suing MSNBC, but this is what MSNBC did. They took a clip of me talking about Tulsi Gabbard and they edited it up and made it look like I was saying great things about Kamala Harris,” Rogan said.
“Wait, what?” Andrew Huberman , podcaster and neuroscientist, responded in shock.
The clip Rogan is referring to was put out by Gabbard. She accused MSNBC of being a “propaganda machine” over the clip, which is a social media video that mashes up bits from a previous Rogan episode. It includes Rogan first predicting Harris can win in November, but then praising details about Gabbard without any transition or context to signify that he’s referring to someone other than Harris.
“They just deceptively edited the things I was saying. They took it completely out of context where I was talking about. First of all, I was talking about Tulsi Gabbard and then I was talking about the media behind Kamala Harris, all this surge and all these people deciding that she can win and they put the two of those together and made it seem like I was praising Kamala Harris,” Rogan said.
In the video, Rogan references two deployments overseas and eight years in Congress, references to Gabbard.
“They don’t care about the truth, they just want a narrative to get out there amongst enough people because most people are just surface readers,” Rogan said.
Though he’s not suing, the podcaster still called the video a “real offense” and a “lie” meant to subtly sway opinions.
“We’re in a very weird time with media and I think truth is super important. I think someone that’s willing to do something like that, that’s a real offense,” he said. “It’s a real offense! It’s not a small thing. It’s a real lie and it’s a lie that changes other people’s opinions.”
MSNBC has corrected the video of Rogan, noting they removed an “earlier version of this post that incorrectly implied Joe Rogan was talking more about Vice President Kamala Harris. He was referring to Tulsi Gabbard.”
Voting for Kamala after living under Biden is like shitting your pants and changing your shirt. Expect her numbers to drop after her CNN interview. Horrible, did anyone really feel like she knew what she was talking about. We felt like she was making up as she was asked the question. Not qualified!
