Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy pressed Georgia Governor Brian Kemp on “what happened” to resolve the “feud” between him and former President Donald Trump , to the point that the Republican candidate is now “thanking him.”

Kemp appeared on the show on Thursday ahead of co-headlining a fundraiser in his home state for Trump, despite the frosty relationship the pair have maintained since 2022. As recently as this month the pair were exchanging jibes.

Trump, earlier in August, unleashed a barrage of criticism at Kemp during a rally in Atlanta , intensifying their long-standing frosty relationship. Kemp swiftly fired back, notably condemning Trump for his attacks on his wife, Marty Kemp .

Getting straight to the point, Doocy asked Kemp: “What happened?!”

Kemp’s response was evasive as he pivoted his answer to emphasize the wider party goal of winning the presidency.

Well, look, there was a little distraction, obviously, on their side when it came to Georgia. To me, that’s in the past. I have been saying that guys, literally for over a year now that I was going to support our nominee, that we had to win Georgia, the road to the White House runs through Georgia. And I still believe today, we cannot afford four more years of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. It’s not about me. And as former President Trump says a lot, it’s not about him. It’s about our country. It’s about the American people.

    Watch on Fox & Friends.
