Taylor Swift may not have weighed in on the presidential election yet, but thousands of her fans conducted their own Zoom call that featured some high-profile names and lots of information about how to vote in November.

Swifties for Kamala held a kickoff call on Tuesday that was about 34,000 strong, among them music icon Carole King and Democratic Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey . By Wednesday afternoon, the gathering’s organizers reported a total of around $142,000 raised for Vice President Kamala Harris , $122,000 from the night of the call. The call also provided information for a Swiftie ground game including how to register voters, knock on doors, and make campaign calls. According to The Washington Post , the organization’s campaign manager Annie Wu Henry also urged “keeping everything very political and civically engaged but also everything having that layer of Swiftie-ness to it,” adding: “You can … take the excitement and community we have and turn it into something more.”

Swifties for Kamala is not directly affiliated with Swift, and reps for the pop star did not respond to The Washington Post ‘s request for a comment.

But King, a friend of Swift who described her as “sort of my musical and songwriting granddaughter,” was on hand and played a bit of Swift’s hit “Shake It Off” during the call. There were several references to Swift’s musical oeuvre, including fans wearing t-shirts that said “In My Voting Era,” a reference to the highly successful and economy-shifting Eras tour.

While Swift has not officially weighed in on a specific candidate during this year’s election, The Washington Post noted that when she endorsed President Joe Biden in 2020, she didn’t make her announcement until October. She also mentioned in the same social media post: “Gonna be watching and supporting @KamalaHarris by yelling at the tv a lot.”

Swift’s electoral influence has made a massive impact before; when she posted a nonpartisan call to register to vote in September, more than 35,000 new voters signed up. Axios reported at the time: “35,252 people newly registered to vote on Tuesday — a 23% jump from [2022]’s National Voter Registration Day, and the largest since the 2020 general election year, according to Vote.org.” Plus, there was “a 115% increase in 18-year-olds registering compared to [2022].”
