‘Next Question’: Kamala Harris Has No Time for Query About Trump Doubting Her Blackness

Vice President Kamala Harris tersely dismissed a question about former President Donald Trump on Thursday, calling it the “same old, tired playbook” before stating, “Next question, please.”

The Democratic presidential nominee sat down with CNN’s Dana Bash for her first interview since ascending to the top of the ticket. Her running mate Tim Walz also fielded questions.

Last month, Trump questioned Harris’s blackness in front of a group of Black journalists.

“I didn’t know she was black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black,” he said. “And now she wants to be known as Black”

“I want to ask you about your opponent, Donald Trump,” Bash told Harris. “I was a little bit surprised. People might be surprised to hear that you have never interacted with him, met him face-to-face. That’s gonna change soon. But what I wanna ask you about is what he said last month. He suggested that you ‘happened’ to turn Black recently for political purposes, questioning a core part of your identity.”

After a brief pause, Bash continued by saying, “Any…?” before Harris jumped in.

“Same old, tired playbook,” the vice president responded. “Next question, please.”

“That’s it?” Bash asked.

“That’s it,” said Harris.

Harris was born in Oakland, California to an Indian mother and a Jamaican father. After Trump pretended not to know Harris was biracial, several of his conservative allies rallied to his erroneous cause. The former president shared a social media post from conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer , who attempted to use Harris’s birth certificate as evidence the vice president is not Black. Meanwhile, Fox News contributor Leo Terrell falsely declared that Harris “Is NOT Black.”
