Karine Jean-Pierre Cuts Off Fox’s Peter Doocy Over ‘Insane’ Question: ‘I Have No Idea What You’re Talking About’

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dismissed a question about Vice President Kamala Harris’s accent from Peter Doocy of Fox News.

Harris has been campaigning in battleground states ahead of her general election contest with former President Donald Trump . During Tuesday’s White House press briefing, Doocy asked Jean-Pierre about Harris’s accent during some of those stops.

Conservative social media accounts have noted a certain twang that Harris uses in some of her speeches. On Monday, Trump’s campaign juxtaposed two speeches Harris gave, one in Detroit and one in Pittsburgh. “Kamala Harris delivers the same exact line in a speech earlier today in Detroit and again in Pittsburgh a few hours later,” the account wrote .

Doocy did not mention the account, but he did ask about Harris’s remarks in the two cities:

DOOCY: Since when does the vice president have what sounds like a Southern accent?

JEAN-PIERRE: I have no idea what you’re talking about.

DOOCY: Well–

JEAN-PIERRE: I mean, this is–

DOOCY: She was talking about unions in Detroit using one tone of voice–

JEAN-PIERRE: Is this something that you–

DOOCY: Same line–

JEAN-PIERRE: Ok, Peter.

DOOCY: Same line that she– she used the same line in Pittsburgh and it sounded like she at least had some kind of southern drawl.

JEAN-PIERRE: I mean, do you hear the question that you’re– I mean, do you think Americans seriously think that this is an important question? You know what they care about? They care about the economy. They care about lowering costs. They care about healthcare. That’s what Americans care about.

DOOCY: So–

JEAN-PIERRE: That’s what they wanna hear. They care about– you’re colleague just asked me about, basically, we talked about democracy and freedom. That’s what they care about.

DOOCY: I agree.

JEAN-PIERRE: I’m not even going to entertain some question about the– it’s just, hearing it sounds so ridiculous.

DOOCY: Well, but hearing it is is–

JEAN-PIERRE: The question. I’m talking about the question. The question is just insane.

DOOCY: Is that how she talks in meetings here?

JEAN-PIERRE: I’m just gonna– Peter, we’re moving on. We’re so moving on.
