CNN Chief National Correspondent John King was irked by a false claim by former President Donald Trump made on Friday.

Speaking at an event in Charlotte, North Carolina just hours earlier, Trump addressed the Fraternal Order of Police. In his remarks, he rehashed many of his grievances – particularly his false claims about fraud in the 2020 election that he tried to overturn.

“You’re in serious trouble if you get caught trying to find out what are the real results of an election,” the former president said. “It’s an amazing thing. Do you ever see that? They go after the people that are looking at the crime, and they do terrible things to them. But the people that committed the voter fraud and everything, they can do whatever they want to do. It’s so crazy.”

Trump then told the police in attendance, “Watch out for the voter fraud” and reminded them that everyday Americans are “afraid of you people.”

King noted that the FOP endorsed Trump, but added a caveat.

“However, he stood before the men and women in this country who keep us safe every day and he lied again,” he King. “He lied again.”

The CNN correspondent went on to quote Trump’s aforementioned remarks and reminded the audience that Trump lost in a valid election.

“He lost,” King said. “He lost in 2020. He lost convincingly, bigly, to borrow a term he might like to use. And there was no widespread voter fraud. None. He had every court in the country to try to prove it in. And even judges he appointed laughed his case out of court. So, to stand in front of the nation’s police officers and lie about voter fraud it’s not a badge of distinction.”
