‘Your Face Looks Like an Orange!’ First Full-Length Trailer For ‘The Apprentice’ Puts Trump’s Transformation On Display

Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice released its first official trailer on Tuesday, the same day its subject was set for his second presidential debate of the season.

The biopic about the early career of former President Donald Trump (played by Sebastian Stan ) has garnered a lot of buzz for its reportedly unflattering portrayal , which includes his messy divorce from first wife Ivana Trump (played by Maria Bakalova ) and his relationship with the pugnacious mob lawyer Roy Cohn (played by Jeremy Strong ). The new trailer gives more of a glimpse than the clip that was released previously, showing a mostly unknown Trump winding his way up the New York City social ladder via the most unsavory characters and questionable tactics.

The trailer also provides a glimpse into Trump’s transformation from budding real estate mogul to bloviating, bronzed New York celebrity. In one scene, Ivana tells Trump: “Your face looks like an orange.” In another, Cohn tells him: “You have a big ass. You gotta work on that.” The comments are intercut with scenes of Trump undergoing some cosmetic surgical procedures.

But notably, it’s Cohn’s bulldog directives that tell us why this movie is being made today:

“The first rule is attack, attack, attack.”

“Rule 2: Admit nothing, deny everything.”

“Rule 3: No matter what happens, claim victory and never admit defeat.”

The trailer ends on a parting shot of Trump holding a Ronald Reagan campaign button that reads: “Let’s make American great again!”

The Apprentice is slated to hit theaters on October 11 after several attempts to block its release, including a cease and desist letter from Trump’s campaign.
