Trump Proves He Can Bring People Together as Monica Lewinsky Praises Drudge Report, Same Outlet That Broke Clinton Scandal

Drudge Report declared on Thursday that “hell” had frozen over after Monica Lewinsky offered praise to the outlet, which was the first to break the story on then-President Bill Clinton’s affair while in office with Lewinsky.

Lewinsky, now an activist and a contributing editor at Vanity Fair, praised the same website that kicked off a media frenzy around her and Clinton for declaring that it was “the end” for former President Donald Trump following his debate performance against Vice President Kamala Harris .

“Never thought that I — of all people — would applaud the Drudge Report. But here we are,” Lewinsky wrote.

Included was the Drudge headline and their image, which was an AI-generated picture of Trump surrounded by cats and other animals, referring to Trump’s wild rant claiming Haitian immigrants are kidnapping and eating family pets in Ohio. The false claim earned one of multiple fact checks by debate co-moderator David Muir .

Lewinsky also wrote “IYKYK” in her post, a shorthand for “if you know, you know.”

Drudge Report picked up news of Lewinsky’s praise and announced: “HELL FREEZES OVER: LEWINSKY APPLAUDS DRUDGE?”

The news aggregation website was the first to break the Clinton scandal , which would eventually lead to the president being impeached in the House, though he was later acquitted in the Senate. Lewinsky was a 21-year-old White House intern when she and Clinton began an affair in 1995. She has since become an anti-bullying advocate, something she’s said she understands personally after facing backlash and becoming a media punchline.

“It’s not going to clear up like a blemish,” she told USA Today in 2023. “It’s sort of something you have to find ways to live with.”
