Fox News’s 2024 ‘Power Rankings’ Put Harris In The Lead Over Trump For the First Time

Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer revealed Fox News’s latest “Power Rankings” update for the 2024 presidential election, which put Kamala Harris in the lead for the first time this cycle.

“Going to show you now our power rankings are about to be revealed for the first time. We mentioned a moment ago that there are changes. All right. Let’s put it into motion. Okay. We believe right now that North Carolina and Georgia have had a shift. They’ve had some movements own or direct your attention down to the southeastern corner of the country. Georgia, North Carolina are considered ‘toss-ups,’” Hemmer began, adding:

So we will now put them in the same category that we had for other states for some time. Nevada and Arizona, no change. Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, no change at the moment. We’ve got Michigan ‘lean Democrat’ or we should say yes. Right here. Right here is ‘lean Democrat’ and the blue on the far side of the screen. So watch these states as they hit both of them. Come on, Mr. Magic. Don’t fail me now. Okay, We’re going to something super ugly. Okay.

After a brief technical issue with his “magic board” it started working again and Hemmer continued:

Well, here’s what I wanted to show you. Look at that. Look at that. Okay, now we can go back in here. Dana, let’s do this. Voila, apologies about that. Sorry, but these things happen. You know where that would not have happened, Dana, on Elon Musk spacecraft earlier today. All right. They did it perfectly.

These are the states to focus on right now. Okay. These are the area that we are going to watch, 78 electoral votes among six different states and how they break, I would say Pennsylvania, 19 electoral votes is the biggest match in this list here. But don’t overlook Georgia, 16 electoral votes, North Carolina, 16 electoral votes taken together is 32. Right.

Okay. So they matter. They matter in a significant way. In a moment, I’ll show you just how much going back to 2020. Our forecast at the moment has Kamala Harris in the lead. We’ve got her 241. We got Trump at 219. You need 270 to win. That’s the magic number in the end.

Okay. And that’s our power rankings as of now. A bit later, I want to go back to 2020. I want to show you three states and specific I will show Wisconsin. I’m going to show Georgia and show Arizona.

As Hemmer spoke a chyron ran on-screen noting that this was the “first time” Harris led in the “ Power Rankings. ” Hemmer concluded by asking his co-anchor Dana Perino a question, “Dana, do you know what the total was between those three states?”

“I don’t,” Perino replied as Hemmer answered, “It wasn’t even 43,000 combined. And that was the difference with Biden winning all three. And in the end, Trump would have ended up with 269 electoral votes.”

“Want to bring in Josh Krashaar, editor in chief, Jewish Insider. Josh, good morning to you. Morning. How do you see it right now based on what I just showed on the board?” Hemmer added.

Krashaar replied, “Well, boy, that’s a fascinating map, Bill. And look at the map. Looks a lot different with Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket. She has a lot more paths to get to 270. When it was Joe Biden , we kept on talking about those Rust Belt states, the Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin trifecta. There was a lot of pressure for Democrats to sweep those three states if they wanted to win the election. Now, with Georgia and North Carolina looking a whole lot more competitive, there are a lot more possibilities for the Democrats. You could you could win Georgia and not have to win Pennsylvania. And, a lot of the Sun Belt states open up a whole slew of possibilities for the Democratic ticket.”
