Trump Directly Blames Harris and Biden’s Words for the Latest Attempt On His Life: ‘Their Rhetoric is Causing Me to Be Shot At’

Former President Donald Trump directly blamed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for a gunman targeting him at his West Palm Beach golf club on Sunday – the second assassination attempt since the near-deadly July shooting in Pennsylvania.

Trump spoke to Fox News Digital’s Brooke Singman on Monday morning and claimed the gunman was motivated by the top Democrats’ “highly inflammatory language.”

“He believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it,” Trump said, claiming, “Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country — both from the inside and out.”

Trump pointed to Biden and Harris’ past comments casting Trump as a “threat to democracy,” while telling Americans they are “unity” leaders.

“They are the opposite,” Trump said. “These are people that want to destroy our country.”

“It is called the enemy from within. They are the real threat,” Trump added, appearing to use the exact same kind of language he claims the Democrats are using that inspired the shootings.

“They do it with a combination of rhetoric and lawsuits they wrap me up in. These are the things that dangerous fools, like the shooter, listen to — that is the rhetoric they listen to, and the same with the first one,” Trump said.

“They use highly inflammatory language,” Trump later added. “I can use it too — far better than they can — but I don’t.”

While the gunman, who has faced gun-related charges in the past, is in custody and authorities continue to determine his motive, the media has dug into his past statements on social media. “While you were my choice in 2106 (sic), I and the world hoped that president Trump would be different and better than the candidate, but we all were greatly disappointment and it seems you are getting worse and devolving,” wrote the would-be shooter on social media in the past, concluding, “I will be glad when you gone.”
