Taylor Swift has a lower favorability rating among voters than former President Donald Trump, according to a New York Times poll conducted following the singer’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Just 44% of Americans had a favorable opinion of Swift, according to a poll conducted by the New York Times, Philadelphia Inquirer, and Siena College between Sept. 11 and Sept. 16.

Thirty-four percent of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of Swift, while 22% do not know how to feel about the popular musician.

Unsurprisingly, Democrats had the highest opinion of Swift at 70%, followed by independents at 41%, and Republicans at just 23%.

According to the same poll, Trump has a higher favorability rating among American voters than Swift. 47% of Americans have a favorable opinion of Trump, while 48% of Americans have a favorable opinion of Harris.

Trump publicly attacked Swift on Sunday following her endorsement of Harris, writing, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” in a post on Truth Social.

In her endorsement, Swift hailed Harris as a “warrior” and a “steady-handed, gifted leader,” and praised Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz as a champion of “LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body.”

“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election,” she announced. “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”

Swift signed her endorsement with the title, “Childless Cat Lady” – a dig at Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance, who has received criticism over his 2021 remarks about “childless cat ladies” in recent months.
