Clay Travis Throws Down with Democratic Strategist: ‘Dumbest Argument Ever Made In the History of Fox News’

Outkick’s Clay Travis had it out with former Democratic Party deputy press secretary Jose Aristimuño on Friday after the latter blamed an alarming amount of convicted criminals who have entered the country in recent years on Republicans.

Travis framed a claim by Aristimuño that Republicans shoulder some responsibility for the country’s border crisis as “the dumbest argument ever made in the history of Fox News.”

On Friday’s edition of The Story, host Martha MacCallum noted Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials reported earlier in the day that thousands of foreign nationals who had been convicted of violent or sex crimes in their home countries were released into the U.S.

Addressing Aristimuño, MacCallum said, “I’m sure that you don’t want to know some of these 13,000 who have committed murder or 15,000 who have committed sexual assault are in your neighborhood or anywhere near your family.” The Democrat replied:

Yeah, look, it’s a real problem. It’s so sad to see and I can tell you – me as a Venezuelan-American – when I see Donald Trump insult Venezuelan immigrants, insult Haitian immigrants to say that they are doing a bunch of things. The majority of immigrants are good-serving people. Martha, the FBI says it releases reports year after year, less than 10 percent of undocumented immigrants are criminals.

MacCallum interrupted her guest to note that a Friday comment Trump made about the report in which he called for mass deportations was about migrants previously convicted of violent crimes.

Aristimuño responded, “What’s the solution? Mass deportation? They want to deport people that look like me simply because you are Latino. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, the first day Joe Biden got sworn into office, he put forth an immigration bill, and Republicans blocked it. What happened with the border build a couple of months ago? Donald Trump called Speaker Johnson and said, ‘Kill the bill.'”

MacCallum asked Travis to weigh in on the topic.

Travis responded, “Martha, I feel like I am taking crazy pills. Did Jose just say it’s Donald Trump’s fault Kamala Harris and Joe Biden have let in 13,000 known murderers and 16,000 known rapists? With all due respect, this is the dumbest argument ever made in the history of Fox News, at least while I’ve been a guest.”

Aristimuño, MacCallum, and Travis spoke over one another until the host eventually ended the conversation to air a speech from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
