Michael Moore Calls Dems ‘Such a Frightened Group of People,’ Says It’s ‘Shocking’ To Believe Trump Will Beat Harris

Michael Moore called out “frightened” Democrats concerned over Vice President Kamala Harris’s chances against former President Donald Trump, blasting them as shockingly out of touch.

Moore joined CNN’s Brianna Keilar on Monday to discuss the race, and he denied there was a “dead heat” despite Keilar noting most polls have Trump and Harris evenly split or within only a couple points of one another.

“I honestly think we’re going to have one of our largest turnout sever. I don’t think that many people are going to stay home. I certainly hope not because of everything that’s at stake,” Moore said.

Women voters will be a “tsunami” in November, the filmmaker predicted, in supporting abortion rights by voting for Harris and Democrats.

“Democrats, they’re such a frightened group of people. I mean, people still think that Trump is going to win. This is kind of shocking to me. Like, don’t you live with people? Are you not aware that there’s going to be a tsunami of women voting between now and Election Day?” Moore said.

The director recently warned Harris that a “move to the center” would risk losing her “progressive” base, and he doubled down on that advice on Monday, pushing back against Democrats who believe Harris should switch up strategies and “tone it down” to get more support from the middle. Moore dismissed this, arguing voters align with Harris on key issues like gun control and climate change.

“You mentioned Democrats who want [Harris] to ‘tone it down,'” Moore said. “That’s something women have been told for decades.”

Moore was much less enthusiastic about Democrats’ chances in November when President Joe Biden was still at the top of the ticket. The filmmaker was a vocal critic of the president’s chances in November, and he helped organized a protest movement that saw more than 100,000 people vote “uncommitted” in the Michigan Democratic Party primary.
