Alabama Fan Has Complete On-Air Meltdown After Team’s Stunning Upset Loss: Like ‘Coming Home and Finding Your Wife in Bed With the Neighbor!’

A popular Alabama football fan called into The Paul Finebaum Show on Monday to rage about the team’s historic upset loss to Vanderbilt.

The Commodores stunned the sports world Saturday when they beat the top-ranked Crimson Tide 40-35 . It was Vanderbilt’s first win against Alabama in 40 years, and the team’s first-ever win over a team ranked in the top five nationally.

On Monday, a Paul Finebaum Show regular known only as “Legend” laid bare his emotions after the once-in-a-lifetime upset.

“Paul, I’m in sports Hell, brother,” Legend said on air. “I’m in sports Hell! I never thought I would utter these words: Vandy is my daddy. Can you believe that? Vandy is my daddy! Do you hear that, Coach [ Kalen DeBoer ]? That don’t piss you off, dude? It pisses me off! It pisses me off, Coach DeBoer!

“I’ll ride and die with the Crimson Tide. I don’t care if they go back and get Mike Shula , the coach. I’m gonna be with Alabama every freaking game; but that don’t mean I can’t be pissed at what I’ve seen Saturday on the field! Alabama don’t lose the Vandy! We don’t lose the Vandy! That is freaking pathetic, Coach DeBoer. Forty years, dude! Forty years! Bill Curry didn’t lose the Vandy! Mike DuBose didn’t lose to Vandy! Mike Shula didn’t lose the Vandy! Forty years! You’ve been here four weeks and you already lost the Vandy! Strike-freaking-one, dude! Strike-freaking-one! The honeymoon’s not only over, but we need some serious marriage counseling between me and you, dude!”

Legend wasn’t done with the marriage analogy. Minutes later, he went back to it while explaining DeBoer’s current relationship with the fans:

“You know what this is equivalent to?” Legend asked Finebaum. “This is equivalent to coming home and finding your wife in bed with the neighbor. This is what this is equivalent to, Paul… You could never trust her again. You might stay with her for the kid’s sake, but you can never trust the woman again; and the same thing’s true with Coach DeBoer. You can win a natty, [but] we can’t trust your ass now! You just proved that you can beat the best and lose to the worst in a two week freaking period. You don’t lose the Vanderbilt! That’s the ugliest little sister on the block! You don’t lose the Vanderbilt! You just don’t freaking do it, dude!”
