‘He Just Called Me a Pervert, He Will Be Sued Now’: Alan Dershowitz Pledges to Sue Debate Opponent

Alan Dershowitz pledged to sue his debate opponent Mohammed Hijab on Tuesday after Hijab brought up Dershowitz’s connections to the late serial sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and called him an “old pervert.”
After Hijab brought up Dershowitz’s connections to Epstein during a debate about Israel on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Dershowitz protested, “I knew we’d get to that.”
Host Piers Morgan proceeded to defend Dershowitz, prompting Hijab to question, “Has he get leverage on you? I saw your picture with Maxwell.”
“I met Ghislaine Maxwell for five minutes at a book launch,” Morgan insisted.
“You looked very happy with her,” Hijab shot back, before asking Morgan whether he condemned Dershowitz for visiting Epstein’s infamous island and receiving a massage at the late millionaire’s mansion:
Do you condemn him being on the island? He’s your good friend. He had a massage. He said he didn’t take his shorts off. That’s what he said. He said he didn’t take his shorts off when he was getting a massage. Why is this uncomfortable? He didn’t take his shorts off but he’s got his pants down now, hasn’t he?
After Morgan asked, “Can you stop it. What’s the point?” Hijab remarked, “You’re defending him. You’re defending a monster, a pervert, an old pervert!”
“He’s not a pervert or a monster,” Morgan replied.
Dershowitz then pledged to sue Hijab for the remark, telling Morgan:
He just called me a pervert, he will be sued now for defamation and we will be able to resolve this in a court of law. I guarantee you that he will be sued for calling me a pervert. The woman who falsely accused me has now withdrawn her accusation and acknowledged that she may have confused me with someone else, and calling me a pervert will result in a defamation lawsuit in an American court and in a British court. I assure you of that.
“You can’t threaten me,” Hijab shot back. “I consider you to be a pervert because of your connection with Jeffrey Epstein.”
He concluded, “I’m ready for the lawsuit. I believe you are an old pervert.”
In 2014, Virginia Giuffre accused Epstein of trafficking her to Dershowitz on at least six occasions. Giuffre withdrew her accusation in 2022, claiming she “may have made a mistake.”
In 2015, Dershowitz defended a massage he received at Epstein’s house, claiming, “I kept my underwear on during the massage. I don’t like massages particularly.”
