Former President Donald Trump spoke to the Detroit Economic Club in Michigan on Thursday and declared that the editing kerfuffle over Vice President Kamala Harris’s interview on CBS’s 60 Minutes would “go down as the single biggest scandal in broadcast history.”

Trump, who backed out of his own 60 Minutes interview after initially accepting the invitation because he didn’t want to be fact-checked, took to attacking CBS for editing their interview with Harris. (Networks have always edited interviews for time and clarity.) At the heart of some complaints was how CBS broadcast different answers from Harris on two different shows — Face the Nation and 60 Minutes — in response to the same question by Bill Whitaker .

This, in Trump’s opinion, should result in CBS “[losing] its license ” to broadcast and “should be bid out to the Highest Bidder.” He also claimed that 60 Minutes would “take everything I say, realize how totally BRILLIANT it is, and take it out.” He then called CBS “A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY.”

He continued to complain about CBS on Thursday in Michigan, saying:

The other big news is the fraud committed by 60 Minutes and CBS together with the Democrat Party, working together with them, which will go down as the single biggest scandal in broadcast history, I predict. It’s a big story, I don’t know if you’ve seen it yet.

Trump did not offer any evidence to his claims that CBS and the Democratic Party were in collusion.

Federal Communications Commission Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel responded to Trump’s threats against CBS in a statement on Thursday: “While repeated attacks against broadcast stations by the former President may now be familiar, these threats against free speech are serious and should not be ignored. As I’ve said before, the First Amendment is a cornerstone of our democracy. The FCC does not and will not revoke licenses for broadcast stations simply because a political candidate disagrees with or dislikes content or coverage.”
