Kamala Harris Getting Help to ‘Clean Up’ Her ‘Style’ in Interviews After Failure to Explain How She Differs From Biden: Report

Democrats are helping Vice President Kamala Harris “clean up” how she responds to questions from the media after she told The View earlier this week that she could not think of any meaningful way in which she was different from President Joe Biden .

Harris essentially told the ladies of the program she was nothing like former President Donald Trump – leading to questions about how she would contrast herself from the unpopular sitting president.

On Tuesday’s episode of the program, Harris was asked by co-host Sunny Hostin if she would have done anything “differently” than Biden had she been in the Oval Office the last four years.

Harris responded, “There is not a thing that comes to mind.”

Harris had a similar moment while interviewing with CBS’s Stephen Colbert .

The vice president was skewered over the responses. According to a Saturday report from NBC News, Harris’s advisers are now working with her to “clean up” how she handles such questions with just weeks until the November election.

She is also seeking to “put more distance” between her and her boss. The outlet reported :

Vice President Kamala Harris’ team has been discussing ways to clean up her responses to questions this week about how she would differentiate herself from President Joe Biden, according to four people familiar with the discussions. Harris’ answers — including one where she said she couldn’t think of anything she’d do differently than Biden — quickly became fodder for her Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump, who has played a video clip of the exchange at campaign rallies as a majority of voters still view the current president unfavorably.

The NBC News report further noted Democrats are working with Harris on “several additional areas” in which she could contrast her “overall leadership style.”

The discussions within Harris’ team have included how she could put more distance between her and Biden, the people familiar with the discussions said, as well as what that would entail in the final weeks of the 2024 race.

Harris and her running mate, Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz , have made themselves more visible in recent weeks after having spent the first several months of their campaign essentially avoiding the national media.
