Ted Cruz Begs for Money on Fox News: ‘Please… I Need Your Help’

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) appeared on Fox News on Monday night, where he begged viewers for donations to his reelection campaign.

Cruz is running for a third term against Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX), who raised $30 million in the third quarter, besting Cruz’s $21 million. Allred still faces an uphill battle, as polls regularly show him trailing the senator by three to five points.

Appearing on Monday’s Hannity , Cruz was asked about the upcoming Senate elections where Democrats, who lead the chamber 51-49, must defend several seats in red and purple states. However, one seat Democrats hope to flip is Cruz’s.

“How do you feel about the Senate?” Sean Hannity asked. “If you’re in Texas and you care about border security, if you don’t want Harris-Biden inflation, if you don’t wanna pay high gas prices, if you want law and order, you better pay attention to Senator Cruz and his race. And don’t you have a debate coming up soon, too?”

“So, I do,” Cruz responded. “Our debate is tomorrow. And Chuck Schumer’s been explicit. I’m his number one target in the country. Chuck Schumer and George Soros are flooding over $100 million into the state of Texas. I’m getting pounded every day. We had a poll that came out yesterday – showed it is a one-point race. And we’re getting viciously outspent.”

Cruz then made his elevator pitch:

And here’s what Schumer thinks. If he can flip Texas, he wins the Senate, and he wins the country. Texas is the battleground. My opponent Colin Allred is a hard-left Kamala Harris clone. He voted 100% with Nancy Pelosi during his first four years in the House. He voted 100% with Joe Biden from 2021 to 2023. And yet, $100 million on the other side is dangerous. So, please come to Ted Cruz dot org, Ted Cruz dot org. I need your help and support at Ted Cruz dot org.

Cruz narrowly won reelection in 2018, defeating then-Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) by 2.6 percentage points.

While polls have consistently shown that Cruz is ahead, at least one pollster thinks the senator may have a Cancun problem . Allred has featured footage of Cruz at an airport in Mexico after he fled a devastating winter storm in Texas in 2021. After much backlash, the senator later blamed his daughters for coming up with the idea.
