Bill Maher Tells Dr. Phil Trump ‘Could’ Start Sending ‘Critics’ To Gitmo, But He’s Not Sweating It Because ‘He’s Not Going To Win’

Bill Maher is not afraid of a second term from former President Donald Trump despite telling Dr. Phil McGraw he believes Trump “could” start rounding up his critics and throwing them in Guantanamo Bay.

Dr. Phil joined Maher’s Club Random podcast this week and Maher distanced himself from some other vocal critics of Trump in the media by saying he’s not concerned with Trump returning to office and targeting critics. Trump critics like The View’s Joy Behar and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow have meanwhile publicly fretted about Trump either canceling their shows or putting them in a “camp.”

“So what are you going to do if Trump wins?” Dr. Phil asked Maher.

“Nothing,” Maher said. “Nothing. Going on with my show and making jokes at his expense every week, and that’s why this is a great country. Because as crazy as he is, you know, he didn’t do anything about it the first time. So I’m just not going to lose my nervous system about it.”

The Real Time host quickly added though that he believes Trump is “insane” and absolutely capable of rounding up his critics and shipping them off to Guantanamo Bay, a detention center meant for enemy combatants and terrorist suspects.

“Now, he could. He’s insane, so he could start sending people to Guantanamo Bay. I don’t put anything past this guy,” Maher said. “He thinks they’re eating the cats and the dogs, but am I going to worry about it? First of all, I’m not going to worry about it, Phil, because he’s not going to win.”

Maher argued time is not on Trump’s side and voters have grown tired of his combative style. He predicted polls will remain “dead even” on election day, but the margin will not be as slim as some think.

“I’ve been known as a Trump alarmist, and now I’m saying I’m not even nervous,” he said.
