CNN Political Director Lauds Fox’s Bret Baier As An ‘Excellent Journalist’ After Calling Network ‘Enemy Territory’ For Kamala Harris

CNN’s Dana Bash covered Vice President Kamala Harris’s media blitz over the last couple of weeks and how it’s heading to some unexpected places.

In a conversation on Tuesday with CNN political director David Chalian, Bash discussed the possibility of Harris sitting down with Joe Rogan on his podcast as a way to reach a different (and gigantic) audience. They also brought up their cable news rival Fox News the day before Harris was set to sit down for her first formal interview at the network with anchor Bret Baier.

Bash kicked off the conversation by joking: “Remember back when everybody was asking why she wasn’t doing any interviews?”

Chalian pointed out that former President Donald Trump was also scheduled to appear on Rogan’s podcast:

So, why would this be appealing for each of them? So obviously, big audience, that’s one thing. But also, he is not, Rogan is not sort of a fan of either one of them, is a proven fan in any way, and yet has a really, really dedicated following. You do get points in the press coverage of such events for going somewhere that’s not a natural home.

Bash pointed out that Rogan has pushed January 6-related conspiracy theories on his show, though he has also had some positive things to say about Harris.

Then the conversation turned to Fox News, which Chalian referred to as “enemy territory” and “potentially hostile” while giving some grace to its anchor:

They are in the attention-grabbing phase. They want to dominate the attention of the narrative of the day each and every day for the rest of this campaign. That’s something Donald Trump usually proves very good at, and they want to take him on in that game. So, announcing you’re going to go sit down with Fox News and you’ve never done that before, enemy territory, a hostile environment potentially — Bret Baier is an excellent journalist, I’m not saying — but it is not a natural home for her. That kind of thing just gets attention in and of itself. Then, of course, you got to execute and do the interview.

Anderson Cooper, Don Lemon, Dana Bash, Erin Burnett, Abby Phillips and the list goes on. You think anyone takes you ppl serious when all you have done for 8 plus yrs is hate on this guy even before he said some ignorant things. You are so bias and want control that you could care a less if Biden was fading right before our eyes.. you waited until he shit the bed at debate to jump off his bandwagon, you could care a less that normal every day ppl that you want to vote for your party are struggling but you'll continue to lie to them for sake of getting your crappy candidate in there, you lied about certain aspects of Covid, you don't cover all the failed migrant crisis and you act like Ukraine is more important than ppl in your own country.
