Bret Baier Concedes Kamala Harris ‘May Have Gotten’ Anti-Trump Fox-Pushback ‘Viral Moment’ From His Interview

Fox News anchor Bret Baier told Sean Hannity that Vice President Kamala Harris was looking for an anti-Trump pushback-on-Fox “viral moment” — and conceded she “may have gotten” it from him.

Baier grilled Vice President Harris in a contentious interview on Wednesday night’s edition of Fox News Channel’s Special Report, which some journalists have called out for Baier’s constant interruptions and one-sided presentation but which drew raves from former President Donald Trump.

The Fox-Trump dynamic that Baier referenced played out most neatly in an exchange over Trump’s threat against “enemies within” when Harris called Baier out for playing Trump’s attack-laden response to a question about that rant — but not the rant itself.

During a post-interview hit on Wednesday night’s edition of Fox News Channel’s Hannity, Baier offered his version of events, claiming the interview was “cordial” and accusing Harris of being “on a mission” to score viral moments — and succeeding:

SEAN HANNITY: How was her campaign? How was she to you when she left?

BRET BAIER: Yeah, I mean, is cordial. And I said, thank you so much, Madam Vice President for the time. She said, thank you.

Her people like I probably four people, were wrapping me you know with big you know moving arms That’s why–.

    SEAN HANNITY: I’ve been there.

BRET BAIER: I looked to the side, you know, I’ve got I’ve got to wrap up. You want to keep talking, You want to keep asking questions. But they were. Yeah, very animated.

And listen, I hope she comes back. I actually think this is a different take.

I think she had a mission that she wanted to do and maybe she wanted to have a viral moment. She wanted to have a push back. She came to Fox News and and she wanted to have a go after Donald Trump viral moment that plays on a lot of other channels and and on social media.

And I think she may have gotten that.

I think in the interim, we had a good exchange. I wish it wasn’t so much filibuster. I wish it was just a cordial conversation about policy and follow ups.

Maybe if we had more time, maybe she’ll come back. I don’t know. I don’t know if she will or not, but I hope she does.

And obviously, I hope the former president has the same format.

She didn't answer any questions. "I'm not finished".

Kamala did her interview the same way Trump would have done his. And yes, things did get a little heated, and it showed on both ends. You tried to break her and over talked her. There were things that you knew Trump was responsible for that you tried to push onto her, and she corrected you and vice versa. But I am happy that she took you on, and it wasn't an interview it felt more like a debate where you were trying to make her look bad, and it didn't work. I know Fox's fans are saying she lost or she was weak, etc. It wasn't about who won or who lost. it was about character, and I felt she held her own. And Fox's can stop complaining about her not doing interviews.
