WATCH: Audience Member at Univision Town Hall Stunned by Trump’s Claim That Ashli Babbitt Was the Only Person Killed On Jan. 6

An audience member at Donald Trump’s Univision town hall was stunned when the former president claimed Ashli Babbitt was only death at the Capitol riot.

During the town hall with the Spanish-speaking network, Trump was asked by a voter about his “disturbing” record and supposed “inaction” while he was president. The voter, a 56-year-old construction worker, claimed Trump “waited so long to take action” as the riot was unfolding on Jan. 6, 2021.

“The vice president, I disagree with him on what he did,” Trump said in reference to Mike Pence . “I totally disagree with him on what he did. Very importantly, you had hundreds of thousands of people come to Washington. They didn’t come because of me, they came because of the election. They thought the election was a rigged election and that’s why they came. Some of those people went down to the Capitol. I said, ‘peacefully and patriotically,’ nothing done wrong. At all. Nothing done wrong. And action was taken, strong action. Ashli Babbitt was killed, nobody was killed, there were no guns down there, we didn’t have guns. The others had guns, but we didn’t have guns, and when I say ‘we,’ these are people that walked down, this was a tiny percentage of the overall.”

As Trump said, “nobody was killed,” the broadcast switched a shot of the crowd panning left to right. One woman face actually twisted in confusion when he made the claim.

United States Capitol Police (USCP) officer Brian Sicknick , who collapsed from a stroke during the riots, died one day later . In the aftermath of the violence it emerged that over 100 police officers had been wounded. In the seven months that followed, four police officers who were on duty that day died by suicide.
