Trump Wanders Around Stage for 17 Minutes After Audio Fails During Speech

Former President Donald Trump is not happy with the sound crew that worked on his rally in Detroit on Friday night.

As he spoke to rally-goers in the swing state of Michigan, Trump’s microphone cut out about 10 minutes into his speech, prompting the ex-president to become visibly irritated.

The timing of the audio failure provided a small cliffhanger in which Trump teased “the most beautiful word.”

“To me, the most beautiful word in the dictionary, it’s not ‘love,’ it’s not ‘respect,'” Trump said as the sound went out.

Garrett Haake of NBC News reported that the sound issue was resolved after 17 minutes. During that time, the former president stewed on the stage. Upon resuming the speech, he pledged to stiff whoever was responsible for audio at the venue.

“I won’t pay the bill to this stupid company,” he said. “If it goes out again I’ll sue the ass off that company.”

Earlier this week, there was another awkward moment at a Trump rally, as the former president swayed back and forth on stage for 40 minutes while music played as attendees passed out.

The former president is locked in a tight race with Vice President Kamala Harris , with seven battleground states in play. A majority of recent polls show Harris and Trump within the margin of error of each other within several states, including Michigan, where Harris also held a rally on Friday night.
