Entire Panel of Arab-American Voters on MSNBC Refuse To Back Harris: ‘Nothing She Can Do or Say For Us To Change Our Minds’

NBC News correspondent Yasmin Vossoughian spoke with a panel of Arab American viewers, all of whom refused to back Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election.

Vossoughian joined MSNBC’s Katy Tur on Friday to discuss her report in which Vossoughian spoke to four Lebanese American voters in Dearborn, Michigan. Michigan has the highest population of Arab Americans in the state and there is some question as to how Harris will perform as groups continue to protest the United States’ support of Israel. In the state’s Democratic primary — when President Joe Biden was still running — more than 100,000 voted “uncommitted” to protest the United States’ support amid Israel’s strikes on Gaza.

Vossoughian said the voters she spoke to feel like they are being treated as a “second, third, fourth class citizens” by politicians.

“They feel as if Kamala Harris is in lockstep with President Biden, especially when it comes to the policy pertaining to Israel and Hamas and Lebanon, as well,” she said.

“Who is voting for Donald Trump in ’24?” the reporter asked the panel of voters.

One woman raised her hand and a man said it was a possibility.

“It’s possible. It’s definitely not Bide-uh-Harris, that’s for sure,” he said.

“Who is voting for Kamala Harris here?” Vossoughian then asked, receiving no response. “Absolutely no?”

“No,” one man said. “Not possible.”

“There’s nothing she can do or say for us to change our mind,” a woman added.

Three of the four on the panel said they are voting third party and one woman said she would support former President Donald Trump.

“Why are you voting for Donald Trump?” Vossoughian asked her.

“Because my main goal is to get someone who is actively funding a genocide out of office,” the woman said.

“Donald Trump has said he will reinstate the Muslim ban,” Vossoughian told her.

“He said that last time,” the woman replied.

She went on to explain that she felt safer with Trump in office.

“Donald Trump said a lot of things his first time around that terrified me,” she said. “The campaign that the Democrats ran was that Donald Trump hates us. I felt safe around the country when Trump was in office. I don’t feel safe right now with Kamala in office. That speaks more.”

Well when they vote for Trump, he will likely take away their rights and deport them even if they are citizens.
