Fox’s Karl Rove Calls the Election a ‘Coin Toss,’ But Warns Kamala Harris Is ‘Flatlining’ While Trump Rises

Fox News contributor and renowned Republican strategist Karl Rove called the presidential election a “coin toss” over the weekend while also observing that Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris is “flatlining” as Republican nominee Donald Trump rises in the polls.

After being asked to evaluate the state of the race by anchor Eric Shawn , Rove said that “What we’ve seen is Harris sort of flatlining and modestly declining, and Donald Trump modestly rising. And as a result we’re seeing a 50-50 election, coin toss.”

“If you take a look at RealClearPolitics , they see Donald Trump in the lead in seven states, enough to give him 300, over 300 electoral votes. But if you look at 538.com and the Silver Bulletin, two other aggregators of the recent polls, they show her leading in four states, him in three, with her at 276 and him at 262,” he continued. “There literally is not a single state in the those latter two aggregates in which anybody is ahead by 2% or more.”

“If you take a look at all of 21 instances of data that you get from the aggregators, three aggregator polls times seven battleground states, 21 total data points, 16 of them are separated by less than 1%. So it’s a nailbiter and will be right to the end, I think,” concluded Rove.

“What states should we be looking at? You know, obviously Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania. Is it those three or others too?” inquired Shawn in a follow-up.

“Well, we also ought to be looking at Nevada, Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina, the latter four states — today, the best state for Harris is Nevada. And the other three tilt towards Trump, but again, not by much. And so a little bit of a whiff, you know, a better ground game by the Democrats in North Carolina might bring it home for them,” he answered. “We have seven battleground states.
