ESD4 investigates purchase of additional ambulances for operations revamp
The board of volunteers who oversee the local ambulance service in Devine and Natalia discusses buying two gently used EMS units as they prepare to take over operations locally. EMS service has been provided by a large private company for years (Allegiance EMS). Pictured are board members George Morales, Tony Martin, Viola Potter, Shelley Watson, and Juan Zamora. Pursuit ends with PepperBall shots near Kenedy
A 40-year-old Lufkin man with a history of violence was arrested June 24 after a high-speed chase that ended in Karnes County. According to Wilson County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Clint Garza, the chase began when a Medina County deputy — working as part of Operation Lone Star — observed Travis M. Wilbanks of Lufkin driving recklessly on U.S. 87 near Pandora. When the deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop, Wilbanks failed to stop and attempted to flee the scene.
