Thu 7/25 @ 6:30-8PM Kent’s Numbers Band, which debuted in the summer of 1970, has plugged on without a break ever since, is one of northeast Ohio’s musical treasures. Fronted by intense, charismatic singer/songwriter/guitarist Robert Kidney, the band has forged its own distinctive sound out of rock and roll, blues and jazz. While clearly there’ve been many personnel changes in a band with such a long history, Bob’s multi-instrumentalist brother jack Kidney and sax/keyboards player Terry Hynde have been along for a significant chunk of the ride. Kommuna Lux music group to perform July 30
Kommuna Lux, a Ukrainian music group, will perform in Cleveland on July 30 at the Beachland Ballroom located at 15711 Waterloo Road in Cleveland. Kommuna Lux features Vova Gitin, a Jewish clarinetist, and its repertoire includes songs that tell the story of Odesa, a historic city that was recently attacked. For its concerts, Kommuna Lux has partnered with the Rotary Club in Kyiv as part of its Hospital Beds for Kramatorsk project. A portion of the donations collected at shows will fund new beds for victims of severe burns at several Ukrainian hospitals. The rest of the funds will go towards medicine and protective equipment for organizations across Ukraine.
