WASHINGTON, USA — Friday marked the 16th straight day with temperatures above 80 degrees in Seattle, breaking the previous record of 15 days. Strong high pressure will begin to amplify over the Inland Northwest today through Monday continuing our string of hot weather, which began around July 5th. The Wenatchee Valley has been at or above 95 degrees every day since then. The heat will likely peak this weekend with widespread triple digit high temperatures and possible records on Sunday. The heat will finally relent by Tuesday and into the middle of next week.

The purpose of the group, led by renowned Tsimshian carver David Bosley, is to resurrect the practice of the Tsimshian culture and demonstrate for audiences the diversity of Native art and culture. Mariners DFA reliever acquired earlier this season
The Mariners announced they’ve designated right-hander Mike Baumann for assignment. The move opens a spot in the bullpen for southpaw Gabe Speier, who is back from the 15-day injured list. Baumman is out of options so Seattle couldn’t send him down without taking him off the 40-man roster.
Neil Weiss sworn in as Edmonds Municipal Court judge
Neil Weiss was sworn in Thursday as the new Edmonds Municipal Court judge. Doing the honors was his father, Snohomish County Superior Court Judge Bruce Weiss. The Edmonds City Council voted in May to confirm Mayor Mike Rosen’s appointment of the younger Weiss – an Everett defense attorney – as the city’s new municipal court judge. Weiss replaced former Municipal Court Judge Whitney Rivera, who was appointed to the Snohomish County Superior Court.
