With engineering plans in the works to replace the bridge on County Highway TT over the Maunesha River in the Town of Medina next year, the Dane County Highway Department is seeking comment on the project.

The Dane County Highway Department has announced project details, along with a timeline.

The project would remove and replace the existing bridge with a new two-span hunched concrete slab. The roadway approaches would also be reconstructed to approximately 100 feet on each side of the budget to tie into the existing roadway. A new beam guard on all approaches will be installed and rip rap will be placed below the bridge.

County Highway TT will be closed at the bridge for the duration of the project, with a posted detour anticipated at Highway 19, Highway 89, Highway TV and Highway 73.

Construction is anticipated to take 3.5 months.

The preliminary planning phase began in February and the final planning phase will be in November, with construction planned for the summer of 2025.

Dane County, the engineering firm MSA Professional Services and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation are working on the designs.

The project can be viewed on the Dane County website at https://highway-projects-countyofdane.hub.arcgis.com/pages/cth-tt-b.

To comment, contact Chad Wagner at (608) 242-6651 or cwagner@msa-ps.com or Brian Rice at (608) 266-4037 or rice.brian@countyofdane.com.

Anyone with information about historic buildings, structures or archaeological sites in the area is also asked to contact the project planners.
