MEDWAY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Medway grocery store said local middle school students have been causing chaos in their aisles. Now the school is getting involved.

In a statement, Shaw's said they are working "in harmony" with Medway Middle School to resolve the issue.

Shaw's said students have been riding shopping carts, knocking over displays and even shoplifting.

The disruptions have come on days when the students only have half days of school, according to the statement.

WBZ's James Rojas has reached out to Medway Middle School.

"I can imagine kids today looking for fun," one local said. "I mean, we all did. Back in the day, things were just different. I'm sure we got complained about too."

Shaw's said they have not banned young people from their stores, but the supermarket strives to offer a "safe and welcoming shopping experience" for all of its customers.
