West Mountain Regional Housing Coalition’s “Good Deeds” buydown program gains traction and dollars
The West Mountain Regional Housing Coalition is looking for at least $3 million for its “Good Deeds” buydown program, starting with its member local governments. The program aims to separate employment from affordable housing, increase home ownership opportunities, and increase affordable housing stock. It will provide buyers who work in Eagle, Pitkin, and Garfield counties with 30% of a home’s purchase price up front, in exchange for a permanent price-capped deed restriction. The buyer must live in the home as their primary residence.
Several updates on Garfield County
Garfield County has announced several updates regarding grants, internet, and the Rifle Airport. 35-thousand-dollars was recently awarded to the West Mountain Regional Health Alliance. It will go towards a 300-thousand dollar funding gap in 2024 operations, that usually provides healthcare assistance, food security, homelessness prevention, and more. Pitkin and Eagle counties are also expected to contribute to fill the funding gap.
