Community Ag Alliance is moving and hiring
The Community Agriculture Alliance has some big changes happening this summer. They are moving to a new building at 35 11th Street, to be called Yampa Valley Foods. This is where ranchers and ag producers from Routt, Moffat, and Rio Blanco counties can bring produce, products, and meats to sell to the community. Executive Director Michele Meyer says the best part is there will be four times more freezer space so they can store more food.

West Springs Hospital staying open
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The only behavioral health hospital between Denver and Salt Lake City will stay open, for now. On May 29, West Springs Hospital CEO John Sheehan announced the doors at West Springs Hospital would not close at the end of May. Sheehan said Mind Springs was able to come to a new contract agreement with Rocky Mountain Health Plans and settled their arbitration case with the company.

Training for a second chance: Steamboat teen joins 2024 Meeker Mustang Makeover
An estimated 60,000 wild horses and burros are stockpiled in holding facilities nationwide by the Bureau of Land Management, according to the American Wild Horse Conservation. In an effort to give these horses a second chance at life and showcase their value, the Meeker Mustang Makeover provides trainers in Colorado the opportunity to adopt a formerly wild horse and train it for 120 days before the horse is auctioned off at the Makeover on Aug. 24.

Summer Fun in the Silt Branch Library is kicking off and will have a number of activities available. The Aspen Science Center is coming by this week for some STEM Exploration Hours and Survival Adventures with 4H and Americorps will be at two libraries a day for three days. Dungeons & Dragons Summer Camp is available at the Parachute Branch on Wednesday and the band Blackout will be in concert a few times this week as well.
