TWRA: Fisherman dies after falling from boat into river in Meigs County
A man who suffered a medical problem and fell into the water while fishing in Meigs County has died, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. The unnamed Dyer County man, who was in his mid 70s, is the 11th boating-related fatality this year in Tennessee, according to TWRA. On Thursday, a Loudon County man drowned while trying to dock his boat on Watts Bar Lake.

Rhea, Bradley, Hamilton, and Polk counties were declared primary disaster counties. While Claiborne, Knox, Marion, Meigs, McMinn, Monroe, Roane, Sequatchie, and Union Counties were declared contiguous counties. Two men drowned in separate boating-related incidents. A 75-year-old Knoxville man drowned while docking his boat at a Watts Bar Lake marina on the Fourth of July.James Doyle Frost was the victim in the incident at Tennessee National Marina. Witnesses said he fell overboard, went underwater, and did not resurface.
