    Seattle Weekend Events: Music, Festivals, and More on August 23-25

    *If you are up for a road trip, the Washington State International Kite Festival will be in Long Beach on August 22 - 25. You can watch competitors or fly your own.

    *The Evergreen State Fair in Monroe starts August 22 and runs through September 2nd. As always, there will be farm animals, pig races, fair food, monster trucks, carnival rides and games, and shows. Located at Evergreen Fairgrounds.

    *Check your local areas for Sunflower Fields in bloom, most charge an admission fee. Some areas are Snohomish, Olympia, Duvall, and Buckley.

    *Waba Korea Expo and Festival will be at Hangar 30 at Magnuson Park in Seattle with Korean food, products, and dance performances on August 23 from 10 am to 8 pm.

    *The Redmond Wine Walk will be on August 23 from 5 pm to 8 pm, a $40 ticket includes a wine glass and 12 tastes of wine in shops at Redmond Town Center. Check online for tickets.

    *The South Sound Block Party will be on August 23-24 with 15 bands, a DJ, food vendors, a beer garden, and games, near Olympia Area Rowing, 1022 Marine Drive NE in Olympia. Free for children age 12 and younger.

    *The Hyatt Regency in Bellevue will be the location for the Everfree Northwest which is the My Little Pony Convention on August 23-25, check for tickets and schedule online.

    *Arts in the Garden will be at the Bellevue Botanical Garden on August 23-25 featuring 27 artists and a wide variety of 3-D garden art available for purchase among the flower beds and woodlands. There will also be live music and a few food trucks on Sat. & Sun. Parking $10.

    *The Enumclaw Pro Rodeo will be at the Enumclaw Expo Center, 45224 284th Ave. SE on August 23-25. There will be concerts before and after the Friday and Saturday shows. Camping available.

    *The Washington State Garlic Festival will be on August 23-25 in Centralia with garlic cuisine, beer & wine, vendors, live music, chain-saw carving, kids’ activities, and a vampire market at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds, 1909 S Gold St. in Centralia. No pets or smoking. Children younger than age 5 are free.

    *The Makah Days Celebration takes place in Neah Bay on August 23 - 25. It will include a street fair, canoe races, dances, a talent show (Friday at 6 pm), a parade (Saturday at 10 am), and a salmon bake (Saturday and Sunday) at Dakwas Park in Neah Bay. This event is free, but a permit to camp, hike, or visit beaches is $20.

    *The Seattle Mariners are home this weekend with games against the San Francisco Giants at T-Mobile Park. The Seattle Seahawks will be playing at Lumen Field on Sunday, August 24 in a preseason game against the Cleveland Browns. Watch the women of the Seattle Reign Soccer Team play on August 25 at 7:30 pm at Lumen Field against the North Carolina Courage.

    *Outside the Brick will have amazing Lego creations on August 24 from 1 pm to 4 pm, watch a robot sort Lego colors, print with Legos, and make Lego inside tents at Lake Union Park, 860 Terry Ave. N in Seattle.

    *WA Iu Mien Festival, a Chinese festival will be held on August 24 from 10 am to 6 pm in Issaquah. There will be food, performances, vendors, fashion, art, and children's activities to celebrate the Mien people of Southeast Asia at Lake Sammamish State Park, 2000 NW Sammamish Road in Issaquah. Parking is $10 if you don’t have a Discover Pass.

    *Snohomish Block Party will be on August 24 (and Friday night) which includes a street fair and artisan market, food vendors, a beer garden, a kids’ zone, and bands playing grunge, punk, and indie rock at Union Ave. & Glen Ave. in Snohomish. (No street fair Friday night.)

    *Classic Car Show will be on August 24 from 8 am to 3 pm at Spanaway Park, 14905 Bresemann Blvd. S in Spanaway. Admire classic cars and trucks, vote for your favorite, and shop from food trucks

    *Festival Sundiata will be on August 24-25 from noon to 8 pm and celebrates African-American art, entertainment, and culture at Seattle Center Armory & Mural Amphitheatre, 305 Harrison St. in Seattle.

    *Harvest Festival will be on August 24-25 in Carnation, the small festival will feature craft shops, archery, and sword demonstrations, music & dance, and lunch (dinner is available by reservation) at Camlann Medieval Village, 10320 Kelly Road NE in Carnation. Children age 5 and younger are free. No pets.

    *Deep Sea Conservation Festival will have booths, speakers, crafts, live music, and food vendors at UW Fishery Science Building, 1122 NE Boat St. in Seattle on August 25 from 10 am to 5 pm.

    *The North Seattle Jewish Festival will be August 25 from 1 pm to 4 pm with a petting zoo, authentic kosher deli delights, friends, and lively Jewish music for everyone at Victory Heights Playground, 1737 NE 106th St. in Seattle. Donation.

    *The Confluence Music Festival will be on August 25 from 2 pm to 7 pm. Bring a blanket or chair that offers art, food, beverages, and local and internationally renowned musicians such as Savanna Woods and Rae Gordon Band at Confluence Park, 595 Rainier Blvd. N in Issaquah.
