A woman has died after a fire in an apartment building in Pilsen, on Chicago’s West Side. Firefighters responded to an apartment building near 17th and Laflin. Chicago police said seven people, all adults, were able to get out without injury.

CHICAGO (CBS) —The family of Sonya Massey will hold a rally in Chicago on Tuesday in her honor as they seek justice for her death.The Reverend Al Sharpton, civil rights attorney Ben Crump, and other activists are expected to hold a media conference at 4:15 p.m. before the rally. The family will gather at the New Mount Pilgrim Church on Washington Boulevard. They plan to address a recent grievance filed by the union representing Sangamon County Sheriff's deputies. CHICAGO - A man died after he was found shot inside a residence Monday night in Chicago's East Side neighborhood. Around 9:16 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired inside a residence in the 9800 block of South Avenue J and found a 30-year-old unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Carbon capture and sequestration, known as CCS, is a technology that prompts both eager anticipation and environmental anxiety. In an effort to keep the skies from getting further polluted with carbon dioxide, a driver of human-caused climate change, CCS traps the CO2 byproduct created by things like ethanol production. The CO2 is then converted into a pressurized, liquid form and sent through a pipeline to sequestration wells far underground.
