ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — Martinsdale's Walker Story and Lewistown's Sage Henderson led the way for Montanans on the opening night of the National High School Rodeo Finals on Sunday night, both finishing ninth in their event. Story was ninth in boys cutting with a score of 138, nine points behind Luke Haskell of Payson, Utah, in the top spot. ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — Dillon steer wrestler Ryder Gaasch finished third Monday night in his first go-round at the National High School Finals Rodeo at the Sweetwater Events Complex. Gaasch, the Montana finals state champion, had a time of 7.38 seconds. He trailed only Kace Hollenbach of Middleburg, Pennsylvania (4.77) and Tyler Porter of Tylertown, Mississippi (5.57). It's the top performance yet by a Montanan after three sessions. Gaasch was one of 10 Montanans competing in the evening session Monday. KALISPELL- Kalispell Glacier offensive lineman Ben Winters announced his commitment to Montana State football on Monday. Winters made the announcement via X/Twitter. Winters joins Montana State's 2025 recruiting class after being a first-team all-state selection in 2023.
