Barton, Central Kansas included in high-risk area for West Nile Virus
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) updates its West Nile Virus dashboard each Friday during surveillance season, which is July through September. Though West Nile cases in Kansas remain limited this year, and there have been no reported cases in Barton County, all of Central Kansas is still listed by KDHE in the highest-risk category. Corn spilled from derailed train may cause issues for Ottawa drivers
OTTAWA, Kan. (KCTV) - A large amount of corn spilled from a derailed train that attempted to pass through Ottawa may impede drivers over the weekend. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office says that around 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, emergency crews were called to a BNSF railroad track west of Ottawa, bear Osborne Terrace and Osborne Ln., after a train had derailed.
Rodeo time in Junction City
