Resurfacing work on M-19 from the city of Memphis to Interstate 69 in St. Clair County is slated to begin next week through the end of August.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the $1.5 million project will maintain two-way traffic throughout the work with single-lane closures implemented daily. In addition to resurfacing, it’ll address pavement markings and shoulder gravel.

MDOT stated in a news release that the project aimed to extend the roadway's lifespan and provide a smoother driving surface.

The project's approximate construction period is from July 15 to Aug. 29, according to the state. The investment in the project is expected to directly and indirectly support 18 jobs.
