Injured red-tailed hawk rehabbed, then released on Syracuse University campus: A young red-tailed hawk was released on Sunday back into its territory on Syracuse University’s campus. Two passersby noticed the injured hawk last month. After the hawk was rehabilitated at Page’s Wildlife Center in Manlius, the people who found the hawk were given the honor of releasing it. Ranking Syracuse football's toughest 2024 opponents based on ESPN FPI
Ranking Syracuse football's 11 FBS opponents from easiest to toughest based on ESPN's FPI. ESPN released its FPI preseason rankings for the upcoming season earlier this summer and the Syracuse Orange check in at No. 70 on the list. Based on those metrics, Syracuse is set to play easiest schedules for a power four team in the country and 82nd most difficult overall. Given the offseason buzz surrounding the hiring of new head coach Fran Brown along with the talent he has helped bring onto the roster, Orange fans are expecting a significantly better season than 70th.

Rome woman accused of causing more than $6,000 in damage to vehicle
ROME — A 32-year-old woman is accused of causing more than $6,000 in damage to her estranged husband's pickup truck, according to the Rome Police Department. Police said Nikki L. Marriott, of Sherrill, went to her estranged husband's workplace on Ellsworth Road in Rome at about 10:11 a.m. Wednesday and damaged his 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck in the parking lot.
