A new restaurant is set to debut at 800 Cooper St , taking over the former site of Farm and Fig, which closed just last week. Leading this exciting venture are renowned Memphis chef Kevin Sullivan and his wife Stacy , who hope to welcome guests to Kitchen Laurel by the end of March 2024.

A seasoned culinary expert and budding restauranteur, Chef Sullivan also has another project in the pipeline called Ki Kitchen , which will offer a diverse array of Southern cuisine. Sullivan’s culinary journey began at Tsunami over two decades ago, where he started as a dishwasher and eventually became executive chef, now holding a stake in the business. In addition to his restaurant endeavors, Sullivan offers catering, participates in farmers’ markets, organizes underground dinners, and provides meal prep services and subscription boxes.

Chef Sullivan told What Now Memphis that Kitchen Laurel’s initial menu will feature a selection of breakfast items and sandwiches, emphasizing southern comfort food. As the restaurant evolves and expands its customer base, it will gradually introduce lunch and dinner options. Kitchen Laurel aims to cultivate a welcoming atmosphere characterized by classic Southern hospitality—a place where patrons can gather, socialize, commemorate life’s milestones, and enjoy a comforting meal.

“Think of Kitchen Laurel as you think of your kitchen growing up,” said Sullivan. “The food will change but that feeling of love and comfort and being taken care of will always be present.” With its blend of Southern charm and culinary excellence, Kitchen Laurel promises to be a cherished Memphis destination where every visit feels like coming home.
