Despite losing 80 to 77 in game #3 of summer league action in Utah to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Memphis Grizzlies promising young group that includes Trey Jemison, Scottie Pippen Jr., and GG Jackson showed well. Grizzlies presumed starting center Zach Edey didn't play sitting due to a "sore ankle".

Jemison scored 20 points in 25 minutes and could potentially work his way into a backup center role. Jemison is currently on a 2-way contract with the Grizzlies. Scottie Pippen Jr. looked like a solid backup floor general dropping 17 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals in 32 minutes as part of an eight-man Grizzlies rotation. GG Jackson shot 3-of-7 from the 3-point arc and finished with 18 points and 8 rebounds in 33 minutes. Jackson flashed the athleticism Grizzlies fans were used to seeing last season with this put-back dunk.

The Grizzlies (1-2) finished their three game set in Utah and return to action Friday as they begin play in the Vegas 2024 Summer League session. Friday (7/12) the Grizzlies take on the Kings at 5:00 p.m. on NBA TV or ESPN+.
