MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Looking for love has gone wrong for one woman in the Memphis area after she joined a Facebook group.

WREG talked to a woman who wants to remain anonymous because over 32,000 people around the world now know her personal information.

“I didn’t say anything out of line. I didn’t say anything specific. I didn’t say anything to bash him. It was simply just to warn another female,” she said.

According to her, that’s what the two Facebook groups, “Victims of Are We Dating the Same Person” and “Are We Dating the Same Guy Memphis,” are for.

“We are all dating on Hinge and Bumble,” she said. “You are going on dates with essentially strangers. So it was a way to just clear their name before going out with them.”

But she says things took a turn in the “Victims of Are We Dating the Same Person” group. She claims the page is now being used to harass and bully women for sharing their experiences with men they have dated.

“They posted their workplaces, phone numbers, their first and last name on a spreadsheet just for being on the page,” she said.

“No one will help me, so I reported everything to Facebook,” she stated.

According to Facebook, this is not breaking any of their guidelines.

WREG reached out to the creator of “Victims of Are We Dating the Same Person,” Paula Jackson.

“I’ve already gotten rid of a lot of my old admin and any members that I do see doing that. I give them a chance to clean it up, and if they don’t, I ban them from the group. I apologize to everybody because that’s not my goal,” Jackson said.
