Mavrick Miller, son of former Memphis Grizzlies' Mike Miller, commits to High Point basketball

Mavrick Miller — who won a state championship at Houston High School while playing for his father and former Memphis Grizzlies sixth man Mike Miller — has committed to High Point basketball.

Mavrick Miller graduated from Houston in 2023, then enrolled at Tennessee Prep Academy, a post-grad prep school in Memphis.

As a senior, Miller averaged 15 points and eight rebounds a game, shooting 50% from the field and 38% from 3-point range. He now has an opportunity to make a name for himself with Division I High Point, which competes in the Big South Conference.

The 6-foot-4 wing was a member of the Mustangs' 2021 Class 3A state championship team , coached by Mike Miller during his lone season with the program. Mavrick Miller's older brother, Mason, was a leading contributor on that team before signing with Creighton, where he is entering his fourth season.

Mike Miller was a 17-year NBA veteran, spending six seasons with the Grizzlies across two stints. The 2001 NBA Rookie of the Year won back-to-back championships with the LeBron James-led Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013. Following his playing career, he spent two seasons (2018-2020) as an assistant coach under Penny Hardaway at Memphis.

Mike Miller runs LIFT Sports Management. His client roster includes Grizzlies star Ja Morant , Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.
