MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say a man was arrested after they caught him running a red light in Frayser in a truck that was reported stolen.

Willie Dyson, 37, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of a firearm in a dangerous felony, unlawful possession of a weapon and running a red light. Records show he was released on $30,000 bond.

His arrest came July 19, when officers say they saw a truck run through a red light at Watkins and Dellwood. When officers ran the license plate, they say it did not come back with registration information.

They conducted a traffic stop on the driver, Dyson, and say they smelled marijuana.

Officers determined that the truck Dyson was in was stolen, and detained him.

Police said the Toyota Tacoma truck was reported stolen from the backyard of a house in the Parkway Village area on Nov. 9.

Memphis Police called it an Auto Theft Arrest connected with the ongoing Operation Code Zero, though Dyson is not charged with auto theft.
