Scattered showers continue to fall across the Mid-South

We are continuing to track some areas of showers and a few thunderstorms over the next couple of days. No widespread heavy rain is expected but there is a chance for a few heavy downpours to produce localized flooding over the next 24 hours. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will last overnight and into the first half of Sunday.

Then another chance for some heavy downpours and some scattered showers come during the day on Monday. After Monday, the sunshine returns for the week. The high heat and humidity also return. We will be in another heatwave for much of the week with highs in the middle 90s and heat indices above 105 degrees.

Dangerous by any standards. We will track the heat right into next weekend before any other rain chances come our way. Get ready for a hot and humid week ahead.
