The victim reportedly told police that while sitting at a pump inside his 2013 Chevrolet Impala, he was approached by four male suspects who opened his door and demanded his car.
Police say the victim tried to hold on to the door of his car and was dragged by the suspects as they got inside and drove away.
He was treated on the scene for minor injuries.
A few minutes later, officers in the area of Park Avenue and Highland Street say they saw the Impala. Reports say it pulled into a grocery store on Pendleton Street and Park Avenue, where officers observed four suspects inside.
MPD tried to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, but police say the vehicle refused to stop, initiating a pursuit.
The suspect car then ran a stop sign and crashed into another car at South Barksdale Street and South Parkway East.
Police say the four suspects ran from the vehicle, but three of them were quickly taken into custody. The fourth suspect was later located in the 1300 block of La Paloma Street.
A stolen weapon was reportedly found inside the stolen vehicle.
